Newborn photography in West Wickham and Bromley

I’m Marina, a newborn photographer with 9 years of experience and a mum myself. From my home studio in West Wickham I photograph babies in their very first days, when they are at their sleepiest and most curled up: the tiny fingers, toes and eyelashes you will want to remember for ever.

Sessions are calm and completely baby-led. The studio is warm and quiet, there is time for feeds and cuddles whenever your baby needs them, and you can simply relax on the sofa while I work. I use a wide range of wraps, headbands, baskets, bowls and vintage props, in soft neutral or gentle colour palettes, so you don’t need to bring anything but your baby.

When to book your newborn session

The best photos happen when babies are 5 to 14 days old, and I photograph newborns up to 18 days. Because that window is so short, most parents book during pregnancy. I hold a date around your due date, with no payment needed until your baby arrives, and we fix the exact day together afterwards.

Newborn photography FAQ

When should my newborn photo session take place?
Ideally when your baby is 5 to 14 days old, and no later than 18 days. In those first days babies sleep deeply and curl up naturally, which makes the sleepy, curled-up poses possible.
When should I book?
During your pregnancy, ideally by 30 to 34 weeks. I hold a spot around your due date and we confirm the exact session day once your baby has arrived.
Is newborn photography safe?
Yes. Safety comes first in every pose. The studio is kept warm, your baby is always supported, and no pose is ever forced. Sessions are baby-led, with breaks for feeds, cuddles and nappy changes whenever needed.
How long does a newborn session last?
Between 1 and 4 hours depending on the package. The Bronze package is 1 to 2 hours; Silver and Gold are 2 to 4 hours so there is time for family photos too.
How much does a newborn photoshoot cost?
Newborn packages start at £250 (Bronze, 8 edited photos), with Silver at £450 (15 photos plus parents) and Gold at £550 (25 photos plus parents and siblings). Full details are on the prices page.
What should we bring?
Just your baby, a feed, spare nappies, muslins and a dummy if you use one. All outfits, wraps, headbands and props are provided.
